One of the things I have been totally amazed by with my Verizon Wireless service and the Samsung Galaxy S3 is the data speeds. My iPhone runs on Verizon’s 3G which was enough to get my through what I normally do on my phone but it often would take awhile to update Facebook and receive current emails. The Samsung Galaxy runs on Verizon’s 4G LTE service which is incredibly faster than 3G.
The screenshots below show the differences.
One the left is from my iPhone that runs on 3G. The one on the right is from the Samsung Galaxy S3 running on 4G LTE. I used an app called Speedtest to track the results.
The download speeds are the most important for browsing the web and receiving emails, the upload speed is for sending. As you can see the 4G LTE speeds are at least 7 times faster than 3G.
And to help give you a better idea of how fast 4G really is, below is a screenshot using Wi-Fi on my home internet. We have cable internet.
And because I can use my Samsung Galaxy as a mobile hotspot, I can get those same speeds on my laptop or iPad wherever I may be.
