I almost had a panic attack last night when I thought I hadn’t written a new post for Saturday. I have not missed a day of posting, since, well, probably April so the thought of missing one now just felt really strange. In the end, apparently I had one scheduled to post so it went off without a hitch.
Yesterday my Aunt and Uncle (she is my Godmother) came for a visit, along with my sister and my parents. They live 2 hours away now and are moving to about 11 hours away in October. With them, they brought a few wonderful items of my Grandmother’s from when she was young. It was so neat to relive some of those memories of the woman whom my daughter’s middle name is in honor of (well, she has 2 middle names, one for my Grandmother and the other for my husband Grandmother). Some of these items were ones that I had remembered seeing in my trips to my Grandmother’s house (which was her parents house before that and in our family since before 1900). Unfortunately the house was sold and some of the belongings dispersed among family, and that really is a story for another time, but there was no one willing to move to Upper Michigan to care for it. In hindsight, I should have. I could have found a job up there – I was just out of college, moved into the house, and slowly fixed it up and kept it in our family. My life would have taken such a completely different course, however, and it was obviously not meant to be.
So anyway, we had a very nice time visiting, and it was 9pm before everyone had finally left. I was tired and even though I had neglected the blog, I went to sleep. I was very happy to wake up and find out I had, in fact, had a post scheduled that I had forgotten about. I also woke up to about 115 emails, advertising everything from ED to online auto insurance quotes. I don’t need those, but I am constantly amazed by the things you can do online now, in the comfort of your own jammies!
