Things unseen – #Mamavation #iHeartOmron

Last week I shared two pictures of myself, one from years ago and a current picture after having lost over 50 lbs. I received so many compliments on the “after” picture both about how good I look and how far I have come. And I appreciate those compliments and I BELIEVE them. I really do.

But also shared my desire to go beyond the “after” picture and get to “amazing” and again I received heartfelt comments saying I already looked amazing.

Again, I believe them. And if I knew that I was as far as I could go, I would be content with the journey.

But there are things you can’t see. Things that I know still leave room for me to work a little bit harder. Become a little bit fitter. Become a little bit stronger.

As an ambassador in the Omron Fitness Challenge with Mamavation my goal is to work harder. Get stronger. Get more fit. If I can lose 10 lbs in the process, it would be an incredible achievement.

When I applied for the challenge, I weighed 162 lbs. Two weeks ago I weighed 164.4. I currently 162 lbs. But my measurements are definitely moving in the right direction.

Every week I will be checking in with my progress. You can also find me on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #iHeartOmron.  The tools I am using for the challenge include the Omron HJ-323U connected pedometer and the new Omron 510W Scale. We will be receiving a new Omron strapless heart rate monitor later in the challenge as well. We were also provided with a fitness program to follow 5 days a week. I am adding that to my current 6 day a week program, Les Mills Combat.

    kim you should be so proud of yourself for doing this and putting yourself out there. It is so hard for so many people and to have you stand up there and show them, well it helps a ton.

    You do look great Kim! I’m in the same position everyone looks at me and says, why? Why are you working out and eating healthier, you don’t need to. But they can’t see my stomach and thighs. I’m working so hard to rid the mama pooch for me! Good luck Kim:)

    It’s crazy that we can hide so much with clothes.

    I really believe we are our own worst enemies, and that is the BIGGEST reason I don’t do a sports bra/shorts picture. I would stare at it and cry all day!

    PS: I love your measurements chart!

      For me the picture adds accountability. I don’t love it being on the homepage of my blog but that ends up actually helping me, and like Maryann just said (above) it might help others.

      I definitely notice my clothes fit better too. I think if I stick with it, eventually the muscle will burn the fat away and even if my loss isn’t as dramatic as I want, if I can get the tones look I am after, I will be completely satisfied.
