Have you ever seen a gorgeous Christmas tree and wondered how they got it to look like that?
One that looks like it belongs on the cover of a magazine, or even one you saw on the cover of a magazine?
One that makes your usual tree resemble something a certain cartoon “blockhead” would have picked out?
Well you don’t have to suffer with mediocrity when it comes to your Christmas tree this year. You CAN have a beautiful, magazine cover worthy, envy of your friends, Christmas tree.
And it won’t cost you a million dollars.
In fact, it will cost you less than $200 at Sam’s Club.
Sam’s Club has Christmas trees, ornaments, and all sort of tree trimming accessories to help you make the the tree of your dreams, and they’ve even put together a Christmas Tree How-To Guide to help you get a designer look for your tree (click the image below to open the guide).
In order to show you how easy it can be to create these designer looks, Sam’s Club has asked five of the Sharing The Savings Bloggers to each create a look from the how-to guide, and three of us got to create our very own designer tree using the guide for ideas and inspiration.
They sent us a 7′ Pre-Lit Christmas Tree and then we got to shop for the trimmings! Sam’s Club had a lot of options and I love their “shatterproof” ornaments. I knew going in we were going to do pink, pink, and more pink because my daughter requested it. Adamantly.
You can get more information and check out Sam’s Club holiday item, decor and events here: Sam’s Club holiday page.
Here’s everything I used to create my tree:
- Tree: $96.88
- 50 yd spool of ribbon (item #868578): $7.98 x 3 = $23.94
- 107 ct ornament kit (item #580268): $29.88
- Twin pack of chocolate truffles (item #306656): $10.98
Total: $161.68 plus tax
Since I made my own tree, I had to give it a name fitting it’s personality….
And the best part is that there are over 45 snowflakes on this tree and each one has a truffle candy attached too it! So it not only looks great, it tastes great too. Trust me. I know. First hand. TASTY.
Now that we’ve put together these awesome trees, there are three important things happening.
- The 9 Sharing The Savings Bloggers are having a little contest. The tree that gets the most votes on the Sam’s Club Facebook application (go vote for mine) gets a $100 prize. I want that prize. I NEED that prize. To buy more truffles.
- The trees that we created are being donated to local charities to make the Christmas season brighter for a worthy cause. I don’t know yet which local charity will be getting my tree, but I’ll update when I know!
- YOU have a chance to win a brand new Christmas tree with trimmings ($300 value)!

ENTER TO WIN A $300 CHRISTMAS TREE AND TRIMMINGS PACKAGE
Along with the 8 other Sharing The Savings bloggers, we are collecting entries for a single winner to win a cool Trim-Your-Tree prize pack. Pay special attention to the entry requirements (they’re easy), but you MUST do both or your entry won’t count.
For the official rules: Sam’s Club Trim Your Tree Contest Rules
This contest is open to USA only.
HOW TO ENTER:
Go through all of your holiday pictures and dig out one that represents this theme: “an unfortunate Christmas tree”. Maybe your tree lost all it’s needles, maybe your tree had no ornaments, maybe your tree fell over! Whatever it is that makes your tree pale in comparison to the designer ones Sam’s Club shows you how easy it is to create.
Image MUST be a .jpg file format.
Contest ends on November 29th.
