Kids like to emulate their parents, and in my house one of the things my son likes to do that my husband does is use tools to fix things or build things. In the past my son’s tools consisted of plastic toys that really didn’t let him do anything more than pretend to fix or build things. For a three year old, pretend is fine. For a seven year old, it’s just not enough.
With Red Toolbox, now he can actually help!
Red Toolbox is a new and innovative woodworking concept for kids offering parents and children the opportunity to spend quality time together while learning new skills. The world of Red Toolbox includes a wide variety of specially designed tools and carpentry kits for kids that let them explore and create woodworking projects with their parents. Families enjoy valuable team time while building unique woodworking projects designed with the kids in mind.
Now the whole family can share the fun of woodworking together!
Red Toolbox has everything your little builder needs. Workbenches, hand tools, a cordless drill and project kits.
They have a number of different hand tool sets available that include clamps, hammers, screwdrivers, a toolbelt, saw tape measure, safety googles, file and more! Tools just like Dad has but designed at a smaller scale to fit perfectly in kids hands.
The project kits come in a wide range of skill levels (beginner, intermediate & advanced) and sizes. They have game kits such as air hockey and basketball, organizer kits such as a remote stand or newspaper stand and a number of other kits such as a birdhouse and birdfeeder.
Mini Bug Barn: For the beginner bug collector.A smaller version of the Bug Barn, but with the same features: clear, portable and convenient. Lets you take your bugs with you so your friends can see them too!
Treasure Chest: Save today to spend when you’re ready…Store your lucky pennies and coins in this secure personal treasure chest.
Red Toolbox products solve 2 needs in my house.
First, they give my son and husband a way to connect over a common interest and both participate. My son is less likely to get hurt using tolls sized just right for him, and because the tools are not plastic toys he really gets to participate in fixing or building something.
Second, they get my son away from the electronics and video games and give him a hands-on, tactile experience. He can have fun, learn a skill and challenge himself and his creativity.
My husband is very anxious to be able to teach my son how to use his tools. He even made a special trip to Lowes to get the cordless drill for him too.
The recommended age for Red Toolbox tools is 8+
You can purchase Red Toolbox tools at Lowes stores nationwide and at Lowes.com.
