June is all about Father’s Day.
We celebrate our dads, help our kids celebrate our husbands, and really appreciate their roles in our lives. Shopping for Father’s Day can sometimes be daunting. I know my husband has enough t-shirts and fishing gear and really doesn’t have any hobbies beyond that that would make for good Father’s Day gifts. My Dad certainly has enough Cubs memorabilia for like 4 people.
One way to give Dad a special day, either in addition to or instead of a gift is to give him breakfast in bed. Wake him to the smell of fresh coffee and great food and it’s sure to make his special day start off on the right food.
The National Peanut Board recognizes the great contributions dads make to their families and wants to help you celebrate Father’s Day with their Peanut Butter for Breakfast promotion. They have provided the following great tips to make a memorable Father’s Day breakfast for dad.
- Don’t break the bank. When choosing décor, keep it simple or consider creating your own. Before heading to the grocery store, check the pantry for items that will bring flavor and nutrition. Adding peanut butter to Dad’s favorite breakfast dishes is not only budget-friendly, but with more protein than any other nut, it really delivers a nutritional bang for your buck.
- Include your little ones. Children enjoy getting involved more than simply watching an activity. Encourage them to add their own creative ideas for the meal and activities of the morning.
- Make it a tradition. Hosting a Father’s Day breakfast annually will create long-lasting memories that the entire family can cherish and pass on to the next generation.
