(I received these photos from my husband today, he is on his way back from Florida. He emailed them to me with the subject ‘alligators are cool’ – ummm, yeah sure…and MEAN)
I recently had the opportunity to discuss and review a new iPhone app. No, I don’t actually have an iPhone, but this app is enough to make me consider getting one.
This app is perfect for families who looking to eat healthier and lose weight. You use it as you shop to make smarter food choices, and it even lets you set a profile for each family member based upon their medical and physical needs and customizes it for you.

My daughter turned 2 last November. She had been a great sleeper for the most part, taking 2-3 hour naps during the day and sleeping from 8 to 8 overnight.
A dream come true.
Potty training appears to have broken her.
She will usually still take a nap during the day but then she doesn’t fall asleep until almost 10 pm.
So my question is, do I give up my much-needed 2 hour free time to myself during the day (*sob*) and keep her up so that she goes to bed at a more reasonable hour? Or do I continue to let her nap, put her in bed at 8pm and let her talk and play until she happens to fall asleep 90 minutes later?
I’m not thrilled with going in and out of her room dealing with her alleged need to potty for an hour and a half before she falls asleep either…
I think either way I lose, but I wondered what everyone else thought…
Evenflo has recalled their model #10502 Top-of-Stair Plus wood gates. The slats on the gate can break or detach posing a fall hazard.
We have this gate and the very first slat has broken off leaving space wide enough for my daughter to squeeze through and get down the stairs…and potentially fall. We have still been using it to prevent someone from being accidentally knocked down the stairs since they stop at the end of the hallway, but it certainly isn’t safe. We’ve had it since late ’07/early ’08 and it broke last year so there was no opportunity for a refund.
Thankfully now they are replacing them at no cost. But here’s the catch…they advise you to take the gate down NOW. They will send you a prepaid mailer to return a bracket from the gate, THEN they will send you a replacement. So you need something temporary in the meantime.
