Nine for IX on DVD – Celebrating Women in Sports {ended}

11/29/2013 - 44 comments

There was a time not too long ago when boys and girls weren’t necessarily treated equally in schools. That all changed in 1972 with Title IX.

Title IX is a law passed in 1972 that requires gender equity for boys and girls in every educational program that receives federal funding.

Title IX covers ALL educational programs from sports to access to technology and higher education but it is most famous for equalizing the playing field (pun intended) for girls in sports.
