I just returned from a 4 day trip to Cancun, Mexico.
Who goes to Cancun and doesn’t swim, right?
Well, the last time I wore a swimsuit, I think Ronald Reagan was in office. Ok, maybe it wasn’t that long ago, but I do know the suit I wore I bought when Reagan was in office.
I’ve never been comfortable in a swimsuit. Even when I was a size 8 and in great shape in college I still felt like they didn’t fit me right. When I wasn’t covering up with a shirt, I’m sure my discomfort and lack of confident in the fit of my suit shined through in my posture and my attitude.
While I was looking forward to my trip to Cancun, I was not looking forward to shopping for a swimsuit, especially with a 3 year-old in tow.
But I did.
And it sucked.
I tried practically every swimsuit in the entire mall and nothing fit right.
If it fit on top, it was way too big everywhere else. Actually, no. I take that back. NONE of them fit on top, at least well enough that I felt comfortable wearing it in public. I did buy one. It didn’t fit great but it was the best of the worst if that makes any sense.
I was so disappointed that I was going to Cancun without a swimsuit that fit me right, especially after working so hard to lose weight and get in shape.
That is, until Lands’ End came to my rescue.
I now have SWIMSUIT CONFIDENCE!
Lands’ End let me pick out the swimsuit of my choice, rushed it to me, and below you can see just how confident and comfortable I am wearing it.
The top I got is the Lands’ End Women’s Beach Living Dot Scoop Tankini Swimsuit Top that you can actually order by bra cup size if you are over a C cup. The bottoms are the Lands’ End Women’s Regular AquaTerra 10″ Supplex Board Shorts. I went with the board shorts because I really liked the idea of not having to have a cover-up or anything, just ready to swim. In hindsight, they were a bit longer than I expected so I will likely get a set of traditional bottoms to wear under them. The top fits AMAZING. Nothing came close to fitting me this well, I couldn’t ask for a better fit. Nothing hanging out and great support on top.
Now, if only i can even out my farmer’s tan, all would be right with the world.
