It was 7:30pm CST this evening and my kids and I were watching the Olympics. We were enjoying the women’s slalom waiting for the the women’s snowboarding. Most of the commercials during the Olympics are fun and family friendly, especially before 8pm which is the time my kids go to bed anyway.
Well tonight, they showed a trailer for a new movie with Bruce Willis called Cop Out. Seemed funny enough…until about minute 1:20 in the trailer.
“I’ll shoot you right in the face”
“I’ll shoot you in the face”
My six year old DID NOT need to hear that.
And he thought it was funny.
Now, I’m not one of those parents who freaks out over everything and keeps my kid from being exposed to things that could be potential teaching moments, but this was COMPLETELY irresponsible of NBC to show that part of this movie trailer at the time that they did, especially during the Olympics.
NBC you should have done better.

Glad we missed this one too – my son has started to use the word kill as it is..they don’t need any help in that department
What were they thinking?! I’m glad we missed that particular commercial.
I think everyone is entitled to their opinion, especially with their own children ,however I do not shelter my children from reality in any way ,shape or form so I would not have been bothered by this-of course my boys are 7 and 8,I may have cared if it were my toddler
Yikes! That is so not cool.
Oh man that is so inappropriate. We were watching baby signing online on nick jr and the commercial that came on during it was for a maxi pad – I couldn’t believe it – on a childrens site!
