This past week I took my kids to see a movie at the theater and as much as I hate previews, there was one preview that caught my eye before the movie we saw. The movie is called Monte Carlo and stars Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy.
I’m not actually familiar with these actresses, although I have heard of them. Normally I probably wouldn’t have paid too much attention to a preview like this, but since I was sitting in the theater waiting for a movie to start, I was a captive audience.
Grace (Selena Gomez) is an ordinary girl who becomes an accidental heiress when a summer trip to Paris turns into the fantasy of a lifetime. On a dream vacation, Grace, along with her best friend and step-sister, discover that the greatest adventure is finding out who they really are.
As much as the target audience of this film is for tween & teen girls (my daughter is only 3), I really enjoyed the preview and I think I would enjoy seeing this movie. Maybe I am old-fashioned, but I prefer to see movies like this hit the theaters as opposed to some of the more mainstream, violent, and explicit films. Family-friendly, funny, and while it tackles romance it does it in a PG way – all movies should be like this! It really does look like a humorous, sweet, light-hearted film.
Take a look at the Monte Carlo Movie Trailer for yourself:
Monte Carlo opens in theaters tomorrow, Friday July 1st and is rated PG.
