It may seem like a bout of bad luck, but I have never had much success with tires. Every year when spring finally decides to make its way over to us, I get an itch to hop in the car and to go places. It has never failed that something happens to my tires if I put off getting them checked for too long.
It is my own, miniature, personalized curse.
Why I ALWAYS Replace My Tires…A True Story
For example, last year I was bored at home and really wanted to visit my mom. That’s no problem! She only lives about forty-five minutes away so it is the perfect day trip. After I had finally got the kids ready and in the car, we set off. Right away I knew something was wrong, I had to hold the steering wheel extremely far to the right to keep the car moving forward in a straight line.
It was terrifying, I had no idea what to do.
I stopped at the closest gas station I could find, and called my husband. This is where my ignorance to how vehicles work really shines through, because he had to tell me to check the tires. I know, ridiculous right? That should have been the first thought that popped into my mind. Sadly, it wasn’t.
I instantly went into freak-out mode, and had to carefully drive the car to Walmart to get it fixed. My plans for the beautiful spring day were ruined, and it could have been prevented if I had taken the car in weeks earlier like I had originally planned. Don’t let this happen to you…it is no fun.
Let’s face it, winter is tough on our tires. The snow, ice, and all around horrible conditions all play a part in slowly wearing down the tires on our cars.
It is always a huge relief when I know there is a special event going on, and I can go in, ask questions, and get the right tires for my car. The awesome offers from Cooper Tire do not disappoint.

I feel like I’m living in the future every time I talk to somebody about the visual tread life indicator. What is this…the Jetsons? I’m supposed to be guessing how good my tread is by looking and feeling. This makes it all way too easy, but I adore it.
More time to enjoy summer vacation without worrying about the tires.
The Wear Square is located at six points of reference around the inside and outside of the tread. Throughout the tire’s lifetime, the square changes shape beginning with a full square and ending with an exclamation mark when tire tread is low, allowing consumers to quickly and easily assess the approximate tread remaining on the tires.
The Wear Square can also signal uneven tire wear and possible wheel alignment issues!
