INSANITY day 6

0 Flares 0 Flares ×

Woot, my first week doing INSANITY is over!

Only 7 weeks left.

Today was not bad.  It was hard, don’t get me wrong, but I felt stronger.  This was the same routine I did on day 1 and I definitely was able to do more and keep up more.

I swear, though, my thighs feel HUGE.  Like they have all these new muscles they didn’t have before.

Virginia gave me some hope. though in her comment on my INSANITY day 5 post.

When I started strength training, I gained 3.2lb in TWO days. Yes, two days. Apparently, little used muscles tend to grab fluid and hold onto it like crazy when they start getting the once over. But, by day 7, not only had I lost what I gained, plus some, I also lost inches. Take some ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation in your muscles and see if that doesn’t help! Chin up, buttercup, you’re muscles hate you now, but they will love you in the long run!

Thank you, Virginia, you rock!

I get tomorrow off.  It feels kind of strange but I know it’s for a reason.  I need to let my body recover despite my feelings I should be working out.

I’ll have an updated photo for you tomorrow or Monday so stay tuned!

Note: I was sent the INSANITY workout program to try and share my feedback on my blog.  The sweat, and opinions produced during my use of the program are my own.

  1. congrats! enjoy your well-deserved day off!

  2. Go Kim! Eating bananas helps muscles recover as well….something to do with potassium? Anyway, when I was working out I loved the weight training part best. Having muscle and being strong helps everything else fall into place. I read a study once that said people who work their muscles out automatically start eating better just because their body tells them they need protein etc. Good luck!

    • Yeah I have to buy some more bananas, they just are so expensive right now, but it’s worth it if it helps.

      Thanks Heather!!!

  3. Wow, that is great advice from Virginia. I didn’t know that the muscles calm down after a few days. My muscles do the SAME thing, puff way up and I gain weight.

Good to know and thanks for sharing.

    • Yeah I heard the same thing today from someone else who is also doing Insanity about the muscles retaining water, she knows where of she speaks!

Thanks for all the support Laura!

  4. I will have to look into this program. I have never heard of it before! Great job so far, Kim :)

    • Thanks Kim! I liked it over P90x because no other equipment is needed, although I’m still interested in P90x, this seemed like a better fit for me.

  5. You’re doing awesome – and you already look great! Inspires me to get back on the wagon!

  6. You’re doing awesome Kim! You’re my inspiration

  7. Aww, I’m so glad that my comment helped you! I can’t wait to see your after photos. If this works out for you, I may have to go insane. LOL.
