People say that steamed food is healthier and more flavorful, especially when there are veggies involved. In our house, try as we may, we often have trouble incorporating veggies, let alone taking the time to steam them to make a satisfying yet tasty meal. Healthy Choice has a new option in their line of frozen meals that steam cook for freshness and flavor. And one of the great things about these meals is that they are also made from quality ingredients that you can recognize when you read the label. Fresh. Simple. Delicious.
I received 2 of the new Healthy Choice Steaming Entrees to try out, the Portabella Parmesan Risotto and the Sesame Glazed Chicken. The first thing I noticed about the entrees was that I could see inside the package and see exactly what I was getting. The next thing I noticed was how simple it was to prepare. No more poking holes, or peeling the cover off or stirring until the meal is finished cooking.
My sister and I cooked up both meals at the same time. She sampled both of them, I don’t do mushrooms so I only sampled the Sesame Glazed Chicken. It was really good! It was very flavorful and the right amount of sweet and really tasted authentic. My sister said it was a little too sweet for her but I really did enjoy it. She said the Portabella mushrooms one was “ok.” I think maybe you really have to love mushrooms to like that one.
I definitely see myself trying the other flavors (priced around $2.50 each), especially the Rosemary Chicken & Sweet Potatoes. I can’t wait to try that one!
