I swear I have heard this no less than 5 times a day for the last week.
“Can I have candy?”
Tis the season I guess. I can’t blame them, it’s really good! Who doesn’t love a sweet treat as a snack?
But we all know that those sweet treats aren’t healthy. Like AT ALL. Sugar has no nutritional value and candy is pretty much all sugar. But it’s hard to overcome that deliciousness. It takes a very cunning and creative parent to trick them into eating something healthy. A lot of effort goes into convincing kids to eat healthy. And a lot of bribery.
Or, you can just give them Cuties!
In my house, I don’t need to do anything fancy to get my kids to eat Cuties. My daughter usually double-fists them, and then asks for two more. I love that she enjoys something that is such a healthy snack without me having to resort to tricks and begging.
But I still like to have fun sometimes and help put an even bigger smile on her face, so I decided to make her a Cuties Christmas tree. I had the benefit of having a holiday plate with a tree on it to make it easy to create the tree. I did add a small chocolate ball for the star, but I’m ok with a small piece of candy, especially when the rest of the snack is such a healthy choice.
It turned out cute and fun and I knew she’d get a kick out of it!
“Can I have some Cuties now?” – a much better question than one that contains the word candy!
She had fun eating her ‘tree’.
And then she asked: “do I have to eat the candy?” Of course I told her she didn’t have to eat the candy. She then asked if she could have 2 more Cuties!
Cuties are the perfect candy-swap snack. Not only are they as sweet as candy, they are super easy for kids to peel and are the perfect size for their little hands. Once your kids try Cuties, “can I have candy?” will change to “can I have a Cutie?”
Especially after they watch the new Cuties Music Video!
My daughter keeps insisting that I play it again and again so she can show off her sweet dance moves.
She wouldn’t put down the Cuties while she danced.
How do encourage your kids to make healthier choices? Have you ever swapped Cuties for candy? To get your kids in on the fun and encourage them to want Cuties instead of candy, you can download the new Cuties Song for FREE! Then post photos of your kids dancing to the I Want Cuties song on your social channels and tag them with #IWantCuties.
