Ok, well hopefully husbands isn’t plural.
I’m probably not alone when I say that I don’t like to clean pee off the floor or the wall in the bathroom. With a husband and a 4 year old son, there is always pee somewhere it shouldn’t be, and the smell is just awful! I’ve actually blogged about this subject before, more than once, about finding puddles in the bathroom. My son does not pay attention!
Well, we recently were sent a sample of a new product to review that virtually eliminates this problem!
Flippee the Toilet Shield (flip…pee – get it? you will) by ReeAssured! Products is a new product invented by the mother of three boys and it will virtually eliminate the pee from the floors and walls!
From the website:
Flippee™ The Toilet Shield protects your toilet, walls and floor from accidents. It attaches to your toilet with suction cups and stores discreetly around the base. The drip lip feature stops any excess from hitting the floor when it is flipped down.
Below are a couple of pictures of the Flippee installed on our toilet.
Discreetly stored away:
The Flippee comes with a sheet of fairly detailed installation steps. The most important is to clean and dry the outside of the toilet. Pay special attention to the steps in the instructions. Trust me. I have a professional degree and graduated with honors, and missing the first step caused me a bit of frustration…and it’s a simple step. The first step tells you to raise your toilet seat up. DO IT! The rest of the positioning isn’t super easy but I wouldn’t call it difficult either. It takes a few tries to get it set right, and if you wet the suction cups to help them stick and then find you need to re-position the Flippee, you will need to dry off the sides of the toilet before trying to re-install it otherwise the suction cups will slip. Trust me. Once I got the Flippee set in place so that it sat properly in both the up and down position, it hasn’t moved or had to be re-installed.
When my son saw me installing the Flippee, he was quite interested. He considers the hall bathroom “his bathroom” and installing accessories of any sort gives him great pride. He watched and waited patiently while I struggled and then laughed when I said “duh, I didn’t even do step 1.” You don’t want to teach “duh” to a 4 year old.
Anyhow, after I installed it, I asked Jake if he wanted to try it out and he jumped at the chance! He didn’t even need me to explain it, he bent down, lifted the handle and raised it up after he lifted up the toilet seat. He said “what does this do?” I told him that it keeps him from making puddles on the floor that I have to clean up and that it also keeps me from yelling at him about the puddles. He seemed pleased with that answer. I also noticed that he seemed to pee more directly into the toilet, like the Flippee was a “visual deterrent” as well.
So far, we have seen good results with it. I know a few times he either forgot to lift the Flippee or was in too much of a hurry, but overall there has been a big improvement in the smell and cleanliness of our bathroom. plus, the Flippee itself is easy to clean.
