We have seriously had three high chairs already and Little P is only 7 months old.

Let me give you some tips about buying a high chair…dont pick one before your baby is born! The first one we had was one of those top of the line, matched everything else we had, and ultra adorable high chairs that did nothing but get on my nerves. They made the straps PLASTIC. Sure..easily wipe-able but nearly impossible to adjust and competly irritated the poop out of Phoenyx.

Eventually we sold it in a yard sell for $20.

Then we went and bought a $65 high chair from Babies R Us that seemed decent. This time we had the baby, put him in it, and we seemed content with how it was sitting.

Till we got it home…

The way the chair back leaned, it was impossible to help him sit up straight and again, something about the straps got on his nerves.

So when I was offered the chance to test out the Evenflo Modern 200 Highchair, I jumped on the chance to see if this chair was better than the last two. I mean, third times a charm, right?

What Mom thinks

Like most high chairs in today’s market, this chair has the removable tray, the easy to grab button to slide the tray off, easy to clean seats, and a 5 point harness. The chair is also higher than the other two, although not as high as our table considering we have a bar table. The chair stores easily should you need to put it away.

Downside: I have to be honest about the downside and boy is it a biggie for me. I would think this chair is perfect, but for some reason it was designed with only two rolling wheels and two static wheels. In theory, this would mean the chair has less of a chance of moving, thereby keeping the baby safe. In reality, its a big pain in the butt because many times you want to move the chair over, get around it, or are putting the baby in it from a direction that has you grabbing the chair and spinning it to you. You have no idea how MUCH you move a chair, till its a lot more difficult to slide it. In this case, I have make sure the chair is in the location I need it to be before feeding time. Considering I like to use my highchairs to also keep him near me while cooking and in the past have used them in the bathroom to keep Charlotte busy while I shower, this is a terrible inconvenience if you want to move your chair from room to room.

Originally my spouse was wondering why it was a big deal. Just go around the chair or put it in place, or just pick up the back and move it, but last night he remarked that he understood now. If Evenflo were to redesign this chair and add four wheels that could be locked if you needed, I would highly recommend. As that is not the way its set up, I say purchase with caution.
