(ended) Cook’n Recipe Organizer (giveaway)

2 Flares 2 Flares ×

One of the hardest things that I have found to do when it comes my newly discovered passion for clean eating is to organize my recipes and plan meals.  It always seems like I’m balancing our budget and our time to buy healthy foods but when it comes to planning meals even a day ahead of time, I’m fighting a losing battle.

We still muddle through and manage to throw things together at the last minute, but it would be nice to have an easy way to keep track of recipes we love and organize a weekly plan and grocery list from them, all in one easy to use format.

Well, this miracle tool actually exists.

Cook’n Recipe Organizer has everything you need to keep track or recipes and plan your meals.

Take a look at the video below to see just how Cook’n can fit into your life.

I can’t even begin to describe the wealth of features built right into the Cook’n software.

  • Find the Best Recipes on the Internet
  • Capture and Save Internet Recipes
  • Enter Your Own Personal Recipes
  • Sync Recipes with iPhone, iPad, & Android
  • Print a Family Cookbook
  • Analyze Nutritional Values
  • Make Menus, Shopping Lists & More!
  • Get Free Cookbook with Purchase

The software itself is setup like a web browser.  You can have multiple tabs open and search the web for recipes right within the interface.  The software come with a huge database of recipes (the DVO.com cookbook) and you can save your own recipes that you gather from the internet or even from your own cookbooks into your very own separate cookbook within the software.  The organization leaves nothing out with detailed categories and multiple cookbooks.  You can also purchase additional cookbooks from Cook’n with different topics and food types.  They have a great selection available.

One of the best features of Cook’n is its ability to import recipes directly from web sites.  Once you find the recipe you want to use, you simply click “capture” in the Cook’n toolbar and it does the rest to add it to your cookbook.

These recipe features alone make Cook’n a home run, but it doesn’t stop there.  Cook’n can also analyze the nutritional values of you favorite recipes (note that the recipe shown imported as a single serving but Cook’n allows you to modify the serving size and will automatically change the nutritional information to reflect the number of servings).

Nutritional Analysis

Cook’n also has a meal planning feature.  I haven’t used it much yet, but I’m trying to make it a point to meal plan.  I really believe it will save time, stress and money once I fully implement it.

In addition to all that, Cook’n is working on mobile apps that sync across all devices, it allows you to print out your recipe book and make shopping lists all from right within the software.

Overall I really do love the Cook’n software.  I did have some trouble with the nutritional analysis part.  It worked fine with the default values but when I tried to add my own ingredients in from the exact foods I buy, the recipes weren’t calculating the nutrition.  I spoke with Cook’n tech support and they said it is a known glitch and they are working very hard on it.  Once you buy the Cook’n software, updates within the major release are included.

To my knowledge, there is no other program out there that can do everything that Cook’n does and I believe that once the nutrition analysis bug is worked out, they will continue to make it even better.

You can purchase the Cook’n software for $79.95 from http://www.dvo.com/recipe-organizer.php
