Many people proclaim to be a dog person or a cat person.
It’s very rare for someone to say “I’m a dog person AND a cat person” and often I think the distinction is somewhat divided among the genders too.
Overall I bet most men would claim to be a “dog person” and most women would claim to be a “cat person” or at least way more than the men.
Recently I showed a series of pictures titled “Every Cat Should Have a Dog” that seemed to defy the logic of cats and dogs not being compatible. That article showed quite clearly that you CAN be both a dog person and a cat person, especially when the two get along so well. But for every picture of cats and dogs getting along are pictures of cats and dogs NOT getting along.
