Bella Sara & Baby Bella trading card game for girls

We were recently sent a couple of sets of Baby Bella trading cards to review from Team Mom. Baby Bella is an expansion line of the Bella Sara trading cards. Bella Sara is a trading card game and complimentary online world. The Bella Sara cards contain beautiful horses and have captures the hearts of young girls across the USA. They offer positive, inspirational messages and have sold more than 55 million cards. The Baby Bella line features foals and on November 6th a 10-day celebration begins on the website with prizes, printables, stories and more.

My son is, well…a boy. Meaning, not a girl. And these cards are generally for girls. But, he has been known to take interest in something that are typically not for boys, at least for a few minutes. That being said, he liked that these were cards but was not actually overly interested in their content. He was more interested in lining them up across the table than actually reading them, but he did stop to read one or two of them.

So, I’m pretty much on my own for this one. The best way for me to describe the way Bella Sara works is to quote from the About page on the website.

Every card you collect has a unique activation code, which you can enter on this website to put your horses in your very own online stable. Activating cards also earns Horseshoes that you can use to purchase digital objects in the online Bazaar. Bella Sara trading cards can only be activated once—so be sure that you only trade cards that have not yet been activated! There are many Bella Sara card series you can collect! PLAY
Once your horse is in its warm, comfy stable, you may care for him by feeding, brushing, cleaning his stall and making him happy. Along with your horses and your card collection, we have games, activities, and other features for you to enjoy. And there’s tons more planned, so keep watching the main page for news.

Bella Sara is a safe, happy, and friendly place for horse lovers ages 5 and up. It is currently available in the United States, Canada, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Australia and South Africa. Bella Sara recently became available in Chile and Mexico, and even more countries are planned.

Bella Sara was created by Gitte Odder Brændgaard. Gitte was inspired to create Bella when she worked as a social worker, caring for mentally disabled young people. In keeping with Gitte’s positive values and love of children, Bella Sara features inspirational, meaningful messages and imagination-building game play designed to uplift girls.

The cards themselves are adorable and very pretty. The artwork is whimsical and fanciful and I enjoyed looking at each one of the cards. I did sign up on the site and activated one of the cards to see how it worked. It was free to sign up and very quick and easy. The area where you take care of the individual horse was adorable and there is so much more to explore beyond there, way more than I could check out in a few minutes. I haven’t had the opportunity yet, but I plan on letting Jake see the website and how the cards turn into virtual horses by typing in the code. I actually think he will be VERY interested in them then, and want to do much more than just line them up on the table.

I really think any little girl over the age of 5 would enjoy the Bella Sara and Baby Bella cards, and the virtual online magical world. If you have a little girl, check out the online celebration starting on November 6th.
