(ENDED) Barbie Princess Charm School: there’s a princess in every girl – toy giveaway

I love Barbie.

Barbie lets a girl be whatever she wants to be, or whomever she wants to be.

I think Barbie is a great role model for girls.

She’s been a vet.

She’s been a teacher.

She’s been a doctor.

She’s been an astronaut.

She’s been a police officer.

She’s been a firefighter.

She’s been an athlete.

She’s been President.

She’s even becoming an Architect this year!

Barbie does so many different things I really believe that it helps young girls to not limit their vision of what they can and can’t do with their lives.

One of the things I’ve been vocal about lately is letting girls be girls.  If they want to be princesses, wear beautiful clothes and dream of a Prince Charming to come and rescue them – LET THEM.

And Barbie feels the same way!

She has a new DVD coming out (in September) called Barbie Princess Charm School‘.

About the movie:

Barbie™ stars as Blair Willows, a kind-hearted girl whose life changes when she’s chosen to attend the prestigious Princess Charm School. For Blair™, learning how to be a princess is a dream come true: there’s dancing, tea etiquette, poise classes as well as helpful magical sprites and new friends, Princesses Hadley™ and Delancy™. Royal teacher Dame Devin is not pleased to discover Blair Willows’ uncanny resemblance to the kingdom’s missing princess; she’s certain Blair™ could interfere with her plan for her own daughter to inherit the kingdom. Just as Blair™ is beginning to blossom as a student, her world is turned upside down when she and the princesses stumble upon an enchanted crown belonging to the rightful heir of Gardania. Will the true heir be revealed before Coronation Day?

One of the messages this movie helps to encourage is that there is a princess in every girl plus it celebrates and encourages good manners.  In this day and age, we don’t focus enough on etiquette and manners and I think this DVD will serve as a great example for young girls, and maybe even their parents who have forgotten a little bit about poise and politeness.

In anticipation of the DVD release, there is an accompanying toy line with dolls portraying the characters from the DVD.

About the toy line:

What little girl hasn’t dreamed of being a princess? While meeting Prince Charming, living in a palace and wearing a tiara are all fun parts of being royalty, modern day princesses such as Kate Middleton, must also be kind, poised and well-mannered. With the movie’s accompanying toy line, little girls can relive the movie and practice their princess etiquette for endless hours of play.

It’s such an invaluable learning tool for kids to be able to act out what they see and hear.  With the Barbie Princess Charm School dolls, girls can take the principals of good manners they see in the movie and apply them as they play and interact with the dolls.  It’s hands on learning and from a parents perspective, it’s fun to watch and listen to how they interpret what they’ve seen and heard.
