Back To School Clothes are Expensive, Ya’ll

Shares

Ah, it’s that time of year when we all breathe a sigh of relief.

Back-to-school!

Parents everyone let out a not-so-small cheer of triumph over finally getting a routine back.

Children everywhere groan, but are easily bribed by shiny school supplies and new clothes.

And the parents, after their triumphant shouts of joy, are suddenly reminded of how much back-to-school actually costs.

And their joy turns to terror.

And scheming.

Maybe the kids didn’t grow over the summer and can wear their old clothes.

Maybe no one will notice too-short pants and stained shirts.

Shoes are over-rated anyway.

Thanks to Schoola, though, your kids don’t have to go shoeless, and by shopping with Schoola, you can actually help earn money for your child’s school programs!

How Schoola Works

  1. Request to have a FREE Schoola bag sent to you¬†(click the link, then click “donate to help”).
  2. Clean out your closets!
  3. Fill the Schoola bag with all of your kid’s outgrown clothes.
  4. Send the bag back to Schoola – they pay for the shipping.
  5. Schoola then sells the clothes on their site and your child’s school receives 40% of the profit from the sale of each item donated on their behalf!
  6. Shop Schoola to get amazing savings on great quality gently used clothing, and help support schools across the country.

Schoola is totally win-win-win. You get to reduce the clutter in your home, save money on name-brand clothing, and help support your child’s school. What a cool concept!

20 Days of Schoola

So many schools are struggling these days to be able to provide adequate sports, music and art type programs for their students and Yick Wo Elementary School in San Francisco hopes to help save the art program in their school.

Watch the video below to learn more about the importance of art to the Yick Wo students, teachers and parents:

With Schoola, you can help support your own child’s school by donating items, but this August, your donations will help fund Wick Yo Elementary’s art program as well!

All you have to do is to request a donation bag from Schoola and they will automatically donate $1 to Wick Yo Elementary, just by you requesting the FREE bag. Send your items back to Schoola (they cover postage) and YOUR CHILD’S school will earn $2 for every $5 made when they sell your donated items.

This is such an amazing way to give back and help you save money on back-to-school!

They really do have a great concept! I am cheering for back to school despite the uniforms and supplies I have to buy.

  2. Christine says

Very cool idea! My kids use uniforms, and the school asks us to donate our used uniforms and we have a used uniform sale. Helps a ton with the cost!

  3. says

Wow what a great concept! Right now I keep all my kids clothes because we have 5 and I pass them down to the next child but when we are done having kids I so would love to do this!

  4. Angela S says

You’re not kidding! Everything about back to school time is expensive. This sounds like it could be a great help. Thanks!

  5. Daisy says

What a cool idea. I like that they pay for shipping so that you don’t have to worry about it.

This sounds like such a great program! My kids keep asking me to have a garage sale, but I don’t want to put the time and effort into it. If I didn’t need to hand down clothing, I’d so be on top of this!

They are especially expensive with my two who tear up the knees of their pants constantly!
