All About Avocados – my questions answered by Chef Pati Jinich + recipes

Did you know avocados are a fruit?

I didn’t until recently.

I’m not sure that it matters really, what matters is that they are GOOD FOR YOU and not just limited to a specific meal or type of cooking. You can incorporate avocados into just about anything!

I recently had the opportunity to ask Chef Pati Jinich from the PBS show Pati’s Mexican Table a few questions about avocados and incorporating them into our cooking. We actually watch her show and are big fans so I was pretty excited to hear her answering my questions!

I also received some great Avocado “swag”!

Avocados really are such a versatile fruit, you’d be amazed at the creative recipes that include avocado in the ingredients list. Below is just a few unique recipes that you can make to incorporate avocados into your diet.

Wow that’s great! I still have to hide some things but Abby recently tried mushrooms and she loves them. They also have been eating cauliflower disguised as mashed potatoes and have no idea.

I didn’t realize how versatile avocados are. I need to incorporate them into more recipes.

Honestly, I don’t really like avocados. I almost feel like I should cringe when I admit that. :) I wish I liked them, lately I’ve seen some recipes that look like they would be really good.

I swear avocados are out to get me this year. I can not stand them at all. Detest them and yet the past 3 months everything I read has some hint of avocado in it. I know they’re healthy. Guess it’s time to suck it up and take the leap in trying them again.

I enjoy them butchered to death. Need that tool! LOL

That chili looks yummy. I have to admit avocados in bean salads with a generous splash of citrus tastes yum too!

I don’t know what happened but up until recently, I didn’t like them! Now I’m obsessed!

You know, I have just recently starting to try things made with avocado. The only thing I’ve tried thus far is guacamole and I must say I really enjoyed it.

I love avocado! I have to be careful though because I can eat a whole one in one sitting. I like them sprinkled with a Tony’s seasoning…yum!

It’s funny because for most of my life I disliked avocados. Then recently (within the past year), I discovered that I like them now and these days I put avocado on everything I can.
