Somehow, when school starts, we end up being a family with PILES. Piles of things we leave out on the counter so we don’t forget who has to do what and when they have to do it. We walk by it everyday, it’s there in front of us reminding us what comes next. The problem is that it takes up a ton of room on my counter and I’m really getting tired of it.
My husband and I each have our own calendars on our computers that sync with our phones and from a business perspective it works out great. But we don’t have a really good solution for our family schedules.
The other day we received a pack of AstroBrights papers and we were challenged to use the papers to create a back-to-school project, and I could think of nothing better than using the papers to create weekly calendars that we put on the fridge where everyone can see it and reach it.

But these calendars needed to be more than just a traditional day of the week calendar, we needed a spot for each member of the family so we can keep track of what everyone is doing in a single location.

I came across a free printable calendar online (http://www.thetomkatstudio.com/weekly-family-calendar-free-printable/) and printed out 4 weeks of calendars. I labelled each of our names on the calendars, wrote the dates on them and hung them on the fridge. The vibrant colors of the Astrobrights make it easy to spot so we are always looking at it, plus I put it right next to the coffee maker – a place my husband and I spend a lot of time considering we both work from home.

My son has already had me adding things onto the calendar so we don’t forget. No item is too insignificant, because it’s easy to jot things down on it, and the Astrobrights make the calendar impossible to ignore!

The pink is too bright for me, but I like the orange. I’d like to put my son’s chore chart on one, and I need one for PTA activities.
