My Story

Aim.

He stood at the door, his back to me.

I stood behind him.

My hand was shaking as I held it out, standing perfectly still waiting for the right moment.

I grasped the trigger and pulled slightly, just barely.

Ready.

It was hard to stand so still.

Not make a sound.

Every nerve in my body twitched.

Mere seconds seemed like minutes.

I felt sure he heard me.

Sure he would turn around at any moment.

My heart beat faster.

All of a sudden there was nothing but noise.

Loud, sharp, piercing.

I pulled the trigger.

Water went everywhere but he stopped barking.

Follow Me!

    Nicely done!

I can’t wait for the sequel where he sneaks up on you in the kitchen, deftly walking on all fours, with the pads of his feet barely touching the ground. He gently lifts his leg and… leaves you a puddle of thanks on the floor.
