I think most people have a love-hate relationship with burpees. They love how strong they feel after they do them, but hate actually having to do them.
Burpees are HARD but they also can produce amazing results. Burpees work your entire body at the same time, which not many exercises can boast. They combine strength and cardio for a near-perfect exercise.
I share most people’s feelings about burpees, but I am always up for a fun challenge to make them a little more tolerable, so I thought I would put together a 30-day challenge where I start with 1 burpee and add 1 each day for a total of 30 days. Which, if my math is accurate, is a total of 465 burpees.
But before I get to the challenge, I want to talk to you about proper burpee attire.
I know it sounds weird, but you can’t do burpees in just anything. Actually, you could do them in nothing, but the jiggling might be a bit annoying. And some things can be too restricting which not only can impact the full effect of the workout, but it can cause injury as well if you don’t have full range of movement.
Which is why this Target® C9 activewear make the perfect burpees workout outfit!
The Target® C9 activewear pieces pictured are the Women’s Sporty Layered Run Tank and the Women’s Run Short with Knit Waistband and both are part of the Advanced for High Performance line of C9 activewear from Target®.
The tank is constructed of 84% Polyester and 16% Spandex in a lightweight and moisture wicking fabric. It has a racer style back, scoop neckline and a built-in sports bra. There is a small reflective decal on the back between the shoulder blades. It is semi-fitted and hangs below the hip.
The shorts are constructed of 100% Polyester in a lightweight, moisture wicking and quick-drying fabric. They have a soft waist with drawstring and are low rise. They also have a built-in brief, a front inner pocket, and reflective decals on each side.
The fit and feel of these are amazing. I feel cool and comfortable wearing them both. The shorts are perfect for burpees or running (I do both) and while I was worried they are a bit short, they are the perfect length to not restrict thigh movement for running or squatting down to do burpees. The waist is comfortable and the drawstring allows for the perfect fit. The tank may be a bit troublesome for anyone who needs a larger sports bra size than their normal shirt size. I found it does not offer enough support for larger busts so I had to wear another tank underneath, which seems to be pretty typical for me, so not a deal-breaker. This tank is low-cut though, so the other tank does show.
I do love how both pieces feel when I wear them – lightweight and super comfortable, and I also love how dry I feel, no matter how many burpees I have done.
